Home is where the ah… panties are

It’s good to keep your heart at home. That’s all fine and dandy. It’s a great saying. But it’s more useful to store your panties there. So fine, home is where the heart is but leave room for your panties too. They’ll be room for both. Your heart isn’t that big.

Laundry Day” featured in the HOME-S 2026 exhibition at the Christos Kapralos Art Gallery in Agrinio, Greece

I captured this photograph on Christmas Eve of our AirBnB guests’ laundry hanging on the line in our backyard. I mean, who doesn’t want clean underwear for Christmas day?

It’ll be featured in the Home-S 2026 exhibition at the Christos Kapralos Art Gallery in Agrinio, Greece this month by Photopolis Agrinio Photo Festival.

The Home-S exhibition marks the third gallery show this batch of laundry has been shown in. The others are the Home 2024 exhibition at the Praxis Photo Arts Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and the Home 2025 online exhibition by Carlotta Gallery which had this to say about the piece –

I was especially drawn to the work titled “Laundry Day”. This image feels intimate and cinematic at the same time, and there is a humanity to the scene, combined with a subtle sense of humor and observation, that makes it both engaging and memorable.

The balance between color, and environment is particularly strong in this piece. It is the kind of photograph that invites the viewer to imagine the broader story around the moment you have captured. Your submission clearly communicates your artistic priorities and demonstrates the thoughtfulness behind your practice.
