Bigger is better

I was thrilled to have my photo, “Don’t Grow Up, Dress Up” in the Bigger Perspective 2026 exhibition at the Range Projects Gallery in Los Angeles put on by the Southern California Women’s Caucus for Art.

Not only was I excited to be in a local show that I could drive to, it gave me an excuse to get a big print.

I took my file to The Icon in L.A. to have the print made. The show did not accept glicée prints for some reason so I had a C-type print made. I was a little worried about a slight color shift that can result in C-type prints and also becoming a little darker but it turned out to be nothing to worry about. The print came out fantastic and was way better than I thought it would be.

I’ve had The Icon make prints before and I can’t recommend them enough. Ken was most helpful ensuring my print came out the best it could.

The print is almost 5 feet in height and a little over 3.5 feet wide which met the exhibition’s minimum size of at least 3 feet high and 3 feet wide.

The next step was framing. On The Icon’s recommendation, I had The Framing Store located in Chinatown do it and I’m so glad I did. The framing came out perfect and I couldn’t have been happier with the result of the print and frame.

I was glad Hillary made it to the opening reception so she could see her work in a large print. It was a great show and I enjoyed the Artists Talk and meeting the other artists in the exhibition.

The one thing I learned from this exhibition is that bigger is better. At least when it comes to photographic prints.
